Dye and Pry on PoPs?

Electronics Forum | Tue Aug 16 09:37:58 EDT 2011 | blnorman

Dye and pry is frequently used on BGAs to determine if there is a crack at the board level or component level interconnect. C-SAM will show internal delaminations of components, not sure how well it would work with solder joint cracks. You can also

Solder beads and wave soldering

Here is a nugget from the Data Sheet... Wave Soldering: Excess moisture on the PCB during soldering may lead to random solder balling and poor wetting of some solder joints. IT IS IMPORTANT that the flux solvent carrier (water) is fully evaporated a

SN100C alloy positive and negatives

Electronics Forum | Wed Dec 24 15:28:17 EST 2008 | edmentzer

We use SN100C for wave soldering and hand Lead free soldering and have had very good results. The wire cored solder for hand soldering flows good and makes very good solder joints. The SN100C in the wave solder machine also works very good. We use

Leaded and Lead-Free Wave Parameters

Electronics Forum | Thu May 22 14:44:10 EDT 2008 | samir

Does your top-side preheat NEED to be that high, and so high that you are exceeding the flux manufacturers' spec? If so, what is the reason? Top-side wetting? Are you measuring this temperature at the substrate or solder joint?
