Hi, We have a customer who give us a 20K board contract each year. It's only thru-hole components. The baord is HASL plated. So we pass it into our wave. No problems. Recently, our customer decided to go into GOLD PLATED finish. We take the same re

As we are a low volume shop, the extra handling is not too much of a concern. My biggest concern is if the flux sitting on teh board for a long time (few hours) is going to cause any problems in solderability. My thought is that it should not as it

I use to have that kind of problems with other type of machines and here are the causes: 1- Spray fluxer head partially obstructed (check flow rate) 2- Defective pre-heater probe (manually check temps) 3- PROFILE (last preheat to 280) 4- we sometimes

| We are facing a problem of high contamination on boards after wave soldering. We want the contamination to be under 24 ugm/inch square. We are using a no clean flux with the spray fluxer unit of wave soldering. The contamination is higher on the e

Spray fluxing yes but have checked the uniformity by using a fluxometer. Also have put boards through with only flux and preheat. no wave up to see if the carrier is being burnt off. I will look into the skip plating issue. Thanks again

ING, you had to nake it difficult didn't ya! It appears that all of your parameters are okay. When you state that "sometimes there is a residue" is it liquidous or dry? Is your spray fluxer an ultrasonic or a spray gun head? You may not be getting

Are you spray fluxing ? If so, check that you are getting flux onto the whole pcb uniformly.... That BLT flux is a water based material, are you getting rid of all the water in the preheat before you get to the wave ( can you hear any spitting as t

Thanks a lot to all of you! I found my problem: It was the pressure of the ultrsonic spray fluxer who was to low. The flux didn't wet all the hole and the solder didn't fill completly the hole. No one in my area knew the solution. Thanks one more ti

Daren: suggestion from a friend of mine 1. Is residue on the top or bottom of the board? If on the bottom, then you might need to do solder dedross. if on the top, you might need to check 1. after spray flux, check for any excess flux on the top of

We are asking $10,500us for this machine, as for shipping I will see what I can come up with as we are in Canada. This is a dual wave machine with foam fluxer. It has not run in 3 years but when we had it in production results were favorable and cons
