Going to version 7 will indeed include a camera hardware upgrade. Depending on how bad your misery is....it might be worth it. I seem to remember it's around $15K for the upgrade.

Guess- If a component drops at the camera the machine will not proceed to attempt to place it and drive the nozzle into a brick of solder paste. The line sensor will catch the fact there is no component on the nozzle and will retry to pick and place.

Just out of curiosity - is it possible to enter placement positions in interactive mode (using camera image) on the GSM1 series? - Deni

I never worked with anything other than the green camera system. The machines are awesome considering how old they are. Changing the table break is not something I would care to do every day, they are a pain to do.

Does your camera / stopper move to a spot where it can catch the boad when the middle sensor is triggered? It sounds like you may have your board stop coordinates wrong. Check your X measurement to be sure.

Hi John, Depending on what cameras it has it will do most of what you want, however it won't do it very fast. Also the operating system may make you cry. Regarding accuracy, repeatability, oddform etc it is very good. Good luck, Rob.

Yessir! I can duct tape my camera phone to the end of a broom and use that until we get some RTV (Redneck Tape Variant). Just be aware that the AOI will be down for PM, end of the day sweep ups, and incoming phone calls.

We have GSM1 running on USOS V1.4.14. Is there a way to change default light levels for PEC (down looking camera) during feeder teach? Whatever I tried, it is always set to some default level... - Dejan

Let me add to the Mydata thing.. TP9-2U=..... TP9UFP=Good MY9=Best TP9 UFPs will place 0402's fine as long as you have black tools and run them across the camera. This method is slow but it works.
