I am looking to use a no clean and want to stick with SAC305 Steve, What would you recommend from Aim ?

We were using AIM WS485 SAC305 and AIM NC257 SAC305 and we had problems with voiding and AIM�s narrow process windows. Now we are using Indium3.2 and Indium8.9 with much better results.

I like this suggestion the best as a "band aid", check out some of the low tombstoning solder pastes. I've seen these work.

Check out the attached and compare your issue w/ the issue in the attached. If it's 'beading' versus 'balling' - check thru the punch list and if you've addressed all those potential causes - then it may be paste specific. The Sn/Ag alloy choice is

kpm, you are probably right. under magnification those two pads show some exposed copper which means that they were contaminated or had insufficient solder paste before reflow.

Hi, Just as DaveF said; please give us some more information. It could be a a´lot of things. For .ex. Do you by any chances solder with Ni/Au at the board?

Would suggest you have a re-look at your reflow profile. There could possibly be a higher thermal demand to solder the Pb-free version of these screw terminals considering that external plating has changed.

Maybe it will sound a little obsolete, but I need to know if there is or where to get a software package to be used with a CAM/ALOT dispenser for solder paste. Is there a dedicated program or any kind of gerber translator out there?

We don't know dip about your Linear Tech LGA118, but we agree with published reports that say you should have between 4800 and 7000 thou^3 of paste on the pad for a LGA. These volumes were analyzed based on volumes found successful for CGA and then e
