Solder wave shutdown

Electronics Forum | Tue Jun 05 10:07:26 EDT 2007 | stepheniii

I think the point the others are missing is that the solder gives off the exact amount of heat required to melt it when it goes solid. That is the heat it gives off when going solid equals the heat it takes to melt it. And while the solidifying solde

hi, This is moisture problem, I think.I have similar problem. You must try to bake PCBs.I bake our PCBs in solder wave mashine , under solder pot. There T is about 80*C - after 6-8h the PCB is dry regards

Blowholes during wave soldering

Aren't the solder balls a result of the blowholes? you know the solder that came from the blowholes is now the solderballs on the resist! hahaha :-) Russ

Blowholes during wave soldering

Thanks for all the answers. Is it also possible with lead free soldering to produce little holes in the solder that are not blowholes? We see holes where you can see the end of the hole (not very deep). The holes are always on the same places.

Hi Andrzej, I guess you mean peelable solder resist. Good idea to try during R&D, but certainly not a solution on production floor. Also, few constraints to be considered such as presence of entrapped air between component and solder resist, the natu

wave soldering two times

Good day, can i seek an advice regarding wave soldering. Will it be advisable to reload the board two times to improve its barrel fill volume? If yes, what is the maximum number of times we can repeat wave soldering on the same board. If no, what

KRIKIES! If that wasn't a sales pitch, I don't know whut was, me lad. Optimizer is good for DoE's and process characterization, but no substitute for the artform that is wave soldering. When me lads here in Purchasing get PCB's from all over the w

Fine pitch wave soldering

I think you have your pitch wrong but anyway, I have never had success with wave soldering anything less than 50 mil pitch. On a QFP I have had good luck on three sides of 25 mil but never all four sides and without defects. Mask 'em off and hand s

Solderbridges wave soldering

Electronics Forum | Fri Dec 01 08:09:08 EST 2006 | CK the Flip

Square-leaded pin headers will typically bridge at the trailing edge (last couple of leads), since during peel-back, the solder at the trailing edge has "nowhere to go". If you have control over designs, ask your designers if they can put solder thi
