We are placing several axial components that have STEEL leads. Have noticed that the steel components do not get good flow thru(we manufacture to IPC-A-610 Class II Standards which reqires 75% flow thru) We are using Seho Wave Machines with Nitroge

When I evaluated a new glue type, I simply used a shear force tester (Chatillon) to compare the cured strengths of the different glues. I sampled parts of different types; 0805, SOT23, 1206, and various tantalum caps. I analyzed the data based on e

Hi Jerry, normal proces would be; 1st. reflow side (top) 2nd. curring side (bottom) 3rd. insert 4th. solderwave Reason for this is that you have a better handling and no overdue stress to components in case you do bottom before top. It is also eas

Working DFM SMT issues with respect to a client's artwork together with a heavily modified solder stencil, I was able to reduce 0402 tombstoning from 80% across the board to 3%. I winged the aperture reductions, but are there any "rules" or guidelin

Cliff A half-question/half suggestion. In the thread about whether gloves are necessary on the SMT forum, I replied but, because I considered that the subject is much more far-reaching than the original poster thought, I ticked other forums, as well

The Brady PAM 5000 may work for you as well. I think they have a web site. This machine is smema compatible. It's automatically places barcode labels onto pcb's within an 18"x22" area with .020" accuracy. The labels can be placed at 0 or 90 deg onto

Bill, Thanks for the input. I took a brief look at the Brady machine on their website. I think their latest is the PAM 6000. It didn't appear it could keep up. My most difficult application is to put 42 labels on a 21-up board in under 1 min 20 sec.

we did this for pad design of pcb and can also use it off- line programming for mounter. we had checked out all the component we used in our factory. we sorted 600 kinds parts using part size(L,W,T) ,number of lead ,shape with over 6,000 parts. a

I have an adhesive dispenser in my workcenter but I rarely use it. I've replaced this process with wavesolder pallets for bottom side PTH soldering, ocassionally gluing parts left exposed by the pallet. So I was thinking of selling the dispensing equ

I would like comments on how the industry handles 0402 parts, regarding identification. Since the parts are too small to be labeled, how can we accurately identify the parts and or values, either before or after assembly? When the boards go to test,
