Anyone know of a paste supplier that can provide the 42Sn/1Ag/57Bi alloy? Supposedly HP has done some work with this specific alloy and we would like to evaluate it. Neither Alpha Metals or Kester can supply it.

A near eutechtic alloy [ie, 63/37, 62/36/2, etc] would be fine. People print, place, and reflow millions of cermaic capacitors with these alloys every day.

Kester has a special alloy for high temp soldering. Alloy 123. I would think that if you coocked 63/37 to 360c you would have a pot of dross in no time! Doug

Could you provide the specific alloy info (percentage od each) OR provide the melting point of this alloy? Please also provide the component specs (pitch, ball diam.) And the pad size and design used on the board. Russ

Does alloy 42 lead frame on a QFP100 make lack of coplanarity (let's say 2 mils), a critical factor to have non-wetted leads? Lead coating is tin lead 90/10. afm

hi, I wondering if anyone have any information on intermetallic growth in 80Au20Sn solder alloy. I have read that it has high reliability. Which bring an important question to my mind. What about Gold embrittlement ? Bye Indy

This is a perculiar alloy. Usually, the portions of each metal in the alloy sum to 100. Yours sums to 98. Could you be seeking 93.5Pb 5Sn 1.5Ag? It is more available.

two ways to attach a thermocouple first with hig temperature alloy (for example Sn Pb90) it's not very easy to inclose the thermocouple in the solder because the wetability of the thermocouple is awfull. the second one: attach the wire of the thermoc

The marketing material makes this look pretty good, has anybody here used this alloy/ Does anybody know of any drawbacks with it? Peter

Hello Lupo, Can you confirm the alloy you are using is the nickel stabilized tin/copper alloy. Thanks, Bob
