Easy, DL says the customer is telling him after 5 reflow processes they get solder under the mask. He tried it and didn't see anything. DL needs more information to understand why and where this is occurring. So, if he can't duplicate the problem

I've never seen this and was wondering how bad is this? We've tried to re-create this defect, but could not. Comments????????

Hi Carol, does that happen also when you solder them with an iron ? That�s what I did with some joints using hightemp solderwire and couldn�t notice anything you mentioned. What Brian and Dave said should be worth considering. good luck Wolfgang

Chevron marks are sets of lines (at right angles, on either side of component) placed on the board to help verify placement (we used it on BGA's) since you can't look at lead to pad to check placement accuracy. That's the only time I've seen it used.

Thanks Russ. You were right I looked one page too far. We can meet (A,B,C,D). To meet the 75% of (E) the annular ring will have to be scraped. Your help was much appreciated.

Yes, a polite complaint to our board shop later and the next batch didn't have that problem at least. I'm not convinced it's an ENIG issue as there was variability panel to panel in the first place.
