Do you have some pictures of the condition that you are facing? Your description of the issue sounds more like dewetting, rather than cold solder. A picture would help us better understand what you're facing. Cheers, ..rob

99C solder

We've never used the 99*C lead-free solder you mention. We have used a leaded solder that can form a 93*C eutectic solder. So, we had to be sure the service temperature [of the solder connections] as below 80*C.

Hi everyone! I am looking for a lead-free solder that will survive a customer reflow of 260C. I am currently using SN10/Pb88/Ag02 but the reflow temperature is to high (320C) for the FR4 boards that we have. I know there are higher temp FR4 boards

If the world was a perfect place, I would recommend preventing solder balls in the first place. While low amounts of solder balls are common, a high volume of solder balls are problematic to a cleaning machine (batch or inline). Solder balls may beco

Lead-free solder

I need solder that has a solidus temp. of approximately 260C so that when sent through a second reflow of 260C the solder doesnt become liquidus. However, I need the max reflow to be less that 300C because of the substrate.

solder pre-forms

Various solder metal supplies sell pre-forms as loose individual shapes, usually donuts. The loose performs then are placed on the connector leads. If you have any volume at all, you would want to look at a shake table that would vibrate a batch of
