Hi all Did anyone encounter that the thermal crack failure or any failure issue by using the Kemet Ceramic Cap, particularly 0.1uF,while wave soldering? Before using this part, I want to clarify whether it is suitable for our process or not. Thanks i

We know nothing about your process, but Kemet ceramic capacitors can be wave soldered. Kemet wrote papers on wave soldering their parts.

Ok...Maybe there isn't such a place. I am suppossing that everyone purchases from the machine manufacturer. Does anyone know of a third party unit that work well? I would like to be able to get a unit that we allow us to calibrate our siemens and uni

Is there ever a point in the life span of pick and place equipment when you can expect the machine NOT to be able to produce at a zero defect rate.

I do know that the machines will have the tendencies, but we have some older siemens equipment that is notorious for leaving off components. Getting upper management to understand that the machines aren't as capable as they used to be seems hopeless

The machine is intentionally leaving them off because its feeling an age bias? Or decides to drop them after vision on the way to placement, or...? What's the root cause? Just curious...

Have you tried replacing the LEDs in the illuminator? This is about the only 'wear' mechanism on a vision system, and should be pretty easy to fix.

Under certain circumstances, Toyota says, solder connections may develop a crack that creates unpredictable behavior in the circuit. Look here: http://www.thecarconnection.com/marty-blog/1048692_toyota-recalls-1-1-mi

We drilled a hole in the centre of the LGA and put the thermocouple inside, so we measure the exact temperature between PCB and device.

Yes we have a set Hot-Tweezers. I should have stated above that all of the resistors have been removed already and the new parts are being soldered on. I was just looking for a quicker method of rework. But thanks for the ideas.
