Electrovert's studies for Hot Air de-bridging Knife (HAK) for Pb Free alloys have shown it to be ineffective. When its hot enough to do the job, you're damaging the board, cooling it down to prevent damage is not hot enough to de-bridge properly. Ya

If you are using wave pallets, you could attach copper thieves to the pallet to draw the solder away from the leads.

Russ and DaveF, thank you for suggesting to Tejas to look for a vendor willing to consider retrofits. Sensbey has had much success implementing the HAK technology.

So, what was the end result with the wave machine and the solder bridges? If you have a Tamura or other machine, I would hope that you work with the company to resolve the issues. Best regards, Gary
