What's important in stencil printing (which differs from screen printing) is providing a consistant volume of paste at each interconnect. The process window varies in proportion to the pitch. More than 60% of all defects are related to solder depos

| I'd like to know the advantages and disadvantages between the two. | | Thanks and regards, | | Both have their place. When using less fine pitch (.025" +) with fine pitch (.020" or less and BGA's) a .007" thick stencil may be used. This would re

There is a stencil cutting machine in the industry which utilizes a water jet to deliver a Laser beam for cutting stencils. There are no machines of this type in the states. The quality is no better than a Laser cut stencil using a good Laser System.

| I have the following questions with regards to the solder printing stencil design : | 1) Is the Electro-polish process recommended for laser cut stencil ? | 2) Should the aperture walls be slanted at an angle or straight wall, i.e. trapezoidal |

Hi Danny, I would suggest a laser-cut stencils w/ anti static polymer film. For more information on the stencil you should consider engineering lab. They provide high quality stencil for a reasonable price. If you can find a laser-cut stencil for a
