We use green painters masking tape. Comes off easy and doesn't leave a residue. The blue colored masking tape works well also but tears too easily. Ours runs through and IR oven to cure the coating after it runs in our PVA650 and we have not seen and

i am going to try it to use with Electrolube HPA. BTW we ran into a similar ptoblem, we just put pink mask on it to seal it off. still takes less time than to mask them with tape

Sure do, it's from the paste that gets squeezed under your R's and C's. This paste is now on your mask and during reflow, wants to move off the mask. Unfortunatly, it follows the flux residue to the side of your component. An easy fix is to use th

Louis, For whatever it is worth, When I have $5000 parts I don't even mess around with a rework station. I would mask off any heat sensitive components (We use water soluble masking like that for wave soldering) and then process through the oven yo

I noticed that your solder mask registration is off some. Does it cover a significant portion of any of the pads for these parts? If so, is it possible that the surface tension of the solder at liquidus is enough to skew the part when the solder i

If you are in the middle of a run and can't get a replacement stencil there immediately, you can always put a little kapton tape on the bottom of the stencil to mask off a portion of the DPAK pad and reduce the paste deposit. We have had to do this

Use a push/pull tester. I use an OBA inst. works Ltd. tester. Just because mask comes off with bonder doesn't mean bonder is strong or cured right. Mask can be weak in between pads do to area size. Do it right and you'll know for sure. To many people

Dave: After the stencil was made with apertures for a connector on this PCB, it was discovered that the connector would have to be handsoldered after SMT reflow. If the solder deposits are left to reflow on the pads, it makes it difficult for the o
