Ultrasonic detector instead of X-ray

It won't work. An acoustic signal can't punch through a BGA. The signals reflect at every interface. So, it works for flip chip, but there are too many interfaces in CSP and BGA. Equipment, Inspection, Acoustic microscope * MicroPhotonics * Sonos

Fine Pitch Printing Issues

How thick is the stencil? Also what type of paste? We have a nice little microscope that has gradients on the lens so we can measure whether an aperture is 8 thou or not. Almost always it is but then we buy from a couple of good stencil suppliers.

Define reasonable priced.... We have a Buehler Viewmet that goes up to 500x and has a nice software package for doing reports. You are looking at minimum 10-15K for anything decent.

SOLDERING LEAD VERIFICATION

Is there any electronic digital devices or other easiest ways to use to determine any unsoldered pins/leads besides some other normal inspections like using microscopes.

Sample preparation

Hello, I did drop testing of some sample boards which had 15mm SAC105&305 BGA's on them. I polished them real nice and looked it under optical microscope for cracks. Was wondering the etching procedure before looking it under SEM. Thanks

Verifying requested copper weight

If you need to know the exact copper thickness of the board, you can ask the Fab to offer the microscopic report, I have already made a 2oz board in ALLPCB before and asked them offeed me this report, usually normal factories can offer it but need add

"A microscopic amount of lead on an 0402 joint makes the whole assembly technically non-compliant" I believe that if there is less than .1% Pb in all of the solder on the board then I believe that it still complies. And as to the Grecian thing, on

Yes, we confirmed under microscope there was a small bit of paste contamination on the nozzle. We found this on two nozzles that were rejecting parts. Problem solved once the nozzles were cleaned and non-reflective.

Check your 500 nozzles under a microscope very closely for tip damage, clogs, or un-smooth spring action. 1 bad nozzle can make it seem like you have a chronic problem. If you have knock off nozzles (chinese reproductions) that can be an additional i
