| I realize it's been discussed many times before. I need to know your opinions, experience, and knowledge concerning "today's"/latest and best pallet designs, suppliers, and methods for using them more effectively. | | Thanks much, | | Earl Moon |

Depending on the type of teflon material, thickness, and reflow profile requirements, these will have a direct bearing on your maximum process allowable PCB pallet size. You'll want to be careful on how big the PCB or pallet is. Larger teflon PCBs

This is all very interesting. One obsticle I have to live with is I have an adhesive backing applied to the flex circuit before being placed on the pallet. Once gone through the reflow process the flex board goes through a couple of assembly stages a

Durastone is commonly used in flooring. Durostone is a proprietary product of Rchling Permali Composites SA [be aware this is a French company] that many use for reflow and SMT process pallets. Suppliers are: * Rchling Permali Composites SA; Canog

I have CCA that has a SN100C HASL coating that I am wave soldering with SbPb. I have mounting pad areas on the CCA that are masked with a pallet during reflow so they are not exposed to the solder. The mounting pads are turning gray in some areas of

vshan, We were using pallets (delmat with cavities for the flex) We put stips of double sided Kapton tape in the critical areas. The tape held up to the heat and kept the circuit flat for the QFP's and BGA's. We based our assembly process for this c

My first thought is board warp. This is something you can't see when the board is in a reflow oven. I see it occasionally going through wave solder. You may need a pallet with hold down clamps for reflow. Try putting a bare board in a baking oven at

| We are using a mixed technology process with mostly through-hole parts plus some SMT IC's on the component side and some passive SMT parts on the solder side. We do not have a proper wave soldering machine for doing solder side SMT (double wave or

I haven't tried anything like that but had some experience with .8 mm pitch SSOPs. Immersion depth in wave was very critical- had to control Lambda pump speeds within 20 RPM and even then it would change as solder level dropped. Need thieving pads o

Hi Snehal, Here are some considerations for you: Will you be doing Lead free soldering in the near future? What level of throughput are you looking for - are you high volume, medium or low volume? What is the support network like in your area? W
