The ELA is a entry level machine. The GSX is a far better system. The infinity is the replacement to the GSX that is also a good system. ELA stands for entry level automation.

one more thing, how many of these are you planning on using? It might be advisable to have the supplier strip and reball with a more appropriate alloy to prevent ball collapse.

I am searching for tabletop/stand-alone point to point soldering equipment. What do you recommend for a low/medium price range? I tried Automation Unlimited, it appears they are no longer in business. thanks MP

Hi, What's the product, and how are they inserted? At 90 deg, or standing up? What brand connectors are you using? Regards, Grant

You might like to look at the R29-V. Its similar to the SPM but a lot cheaper. Check it out on RPAmericas web site. http://www.rpamericas.com. They should be showing it at Apex this year on stand 1417. It also has both std and vac wet/dry usc.

Either method is acceptable: * No IPC approved method * Applying flux only is easier than applying paste * Paste gives a higher stand-off, which should improve reliability
