Hi, We had issues withthese parts when we first ran them thru our process. As the other lads have said - reduce thermal pad by 35-40%. ( we achieve this by using a dot matrix) . We also offset the lead apertures by 3thou ( i.e sort of overprinting)

glue size

Electronics Forum | Thu Dec 28 09:49:18 EST 2006 | slthomas

Tough call without seeing the board, but here's my best guess. You don't say if the glue dot is greater in height or diameter in the locations where you have printing (silkscreen), but I would guess that you might get either, or both, depending on ne

BGA Failure Rate?

Electronics Forum | Wed Jan 03 10:34:18 EST 2007 | dphilbrick

Your failure rate should be as good or better than any other leaded part on your board. Have you done a reflow profile on this board. We typically sacrifice a board and drill a hole from the bottom and then imbed a probe under the part to get the tem

BGA Failure Rate?

Electronics Forum | Wed Jan 03 10:41:47 EST 2007 | Rob

Consider this: The inner balls will be at a lower temperture than the outer balls in reflow, so if you cannot inpsect them then that may be where your problem lies. Are you reworking with a specialist machine that is directing the right amount of h

reflow oven problem

I have seen this before. Check: --Vibration of belt --Interference (part getting "brushed off" while reflowing bottom-side components --Some glues' cross-linking mechanism is impaired by the flux during migration in reflow, redering the glue useless

manufacture symbols

Pretty labor intensive operation as has already been mentioned. Bang for your buck is about zilch unless you're dropping expensive stuff at alarming rates. If you're not doing it already I'd start logging missed picks/drops/rejections and figure out

Electronics Forum | Sat Jan 13 19:34:16 EST 2007 | geb

(Its a flex head) I have made a trial program to determine at what point it stops. This is how it goes: I load the program, push the start button it will zero and pick components with head 1. As soon as it finishes placing head 1 parts it halts wher
