We solved the issue. A stencil must be clamped in the machine to allow the command. The stencil serves to hold the board level, while the pins are set. The machine is smarter than us.... :/

Well to some extent, but with QFNs, device manufacturers seem to have really gone to town with inventing new shapes and sizes. So while you could certainly generalize a bit with QFPs with common shapes like a TQPFP100 for instance; thats harder with

what software are you using? do you need a gerber or component library file? what is the component?

You can always ask your component supplier for datasheet of specific coomponent. If component is developed specificly then part of datasheet (PCB layout recommendation). Best Regards

Page 43 in the datasheet is giving you all detail how the stencil should look like...if this is what you need to do. Page 42-43 shows the geometry of the part and recommended land pattern for the PCB ...if this is what you need.

I am doing another run today. I'll check how central the machine is placing the components onto the pads. I wonder if the part is off slightly and smudges past across the pins? What about if the part is being placed too deep into the paste?

I've worked with these quite a bit in the past as well. As the previous poster mentioned, we ran either 4/5 mil thick stencil with a pretty standard RTS profile in a 10 zone convention oven without issue.

I see that the connector has plastic alignment pins. Is there any reason you can squirt a drop hi-temp "Crazy" glue into each hole, after the bottom side assembly and before printing the top side?
