Transition Automation today releases an updated holder design to improve blade support and simplify maintenance and blade changes for SMT printer operators. This new revision increases the holder width supporting the blade, which eliminates the support shim normally included with the holder assembly. This change also allows for faster printing speeds and better blade wiping as well as eliminating the problem of solder paste becoming lodged between the shim and blade after long use. An additional upgrade is the change to alloy steel flat head screws (vs. stainless steel). Alloy steel screws are less prone to stripping and deformation, making it easier to replace blades.

Transition Automation, Inc. is pleased to announce Squeegee Buddy, a new tool for SMT printer users to help improve process quality and organization. This SMT solution provides a secure storage for squeegees in the form of a frame that looks similar to a stencil frame. As such, it may be inserted into stencil cleaners to clean squeegees without damaging them. Capable of use for both squeegee storage and squeegee cleaning, the tool protects the squeegees from damage by keeping them within the outside dimensions of the frame. In this way, if the frame were to drop and fall on the floor, there would be no way for the squeegee blade to be impacted or damaged. This frame can be hung on a wall or inserted into a stencil frame rack to store the squeegees between operations.

Transition Automation announces the introduction of a precision Permalex® Edge Squeegee for retrofitting Magna-Print® universal squeegee system holders. In response to requests from customers, Transition Automation developed a Permalex blade that includes a separate magnetic strip bonded to the rear side of the squeegee, enabling the Permalex squeegee to be quickly loaded and locked into the Magna-Print Holders.
