Hi, We found voids on BGA. Understand IPC stated as long as not more than 25% should be fine. So, is there any standard stated how many voids in BGA can be allow. Appreciate your help......

Part is most likely a QFN package. IPC-610-D has standards on solder quality for this new type of package.

Design to IPC standards unless a supplier provides documentation on why a change to the standard was necessary. Throw all supplier data sheets in the trash.

Brett, I've found out that it is not a defect with respect to Rev. D. You are correct about the thermal expansion but due to the size of the plastic SOIC's and SOT's they have eliminated it as a defect. Thanks, Tim
