Hi Chris, A lot of it has to do with your product, t-shooting devices and techs ability. There are ways to determine BGA are at fault. X-Ray is a good way to check for shorts. Insufficients are harder to find. Some people use a dye. They squirt

Question...when the machine said something was wrong, was it reading something wrong (false failure), or was there a true descrepancy but not one that resulted in a bad connection (bridge or insufficient)? Also, did you perform a DOE on the process

Hi, Say I'm going to calculate my PPM and DPMO, do I have to include in my defects data an item that the root cause is already identified? example is if I have 4 components with Land Design issues (incorrect dimension) and is causing me insufficient

empf issued an excellent study of calculated solder volume in the 90's. It used lotus 123 but is easily used in excel. I have used it for over 10 years. The only thing wrong is with leadless components. the amount of paste required generally is insuf

Hi, I have 4 years as an AOI Process Engineer and we are working with 3 types of AOI - Marantz 22X, VI3000 and Omron (RNS & VT-WIN2). For solder joint inspection (solder meniscus quality, insufficient solder, wetting problems, shorts (bridges) Omron

Hi Sir, The diameter of the aperature is 17mil and thickness 6mil and since we are using Solder Paste Inspection i believe that should have a good paste deposit on this pad.Let say if no good paste it will more create insufficient solder which X-RAY

I have seen an increase in components with contaminated leads, mostly SMT parts. They give us solder wetting problems and insufficient solder joints. Our practice is to not use them and return them to the manufacturer. Are these parts solderable?
