I am sure you can reflow lead free in any oven but i thought i read that lead free requires a cooling stage to get the solder joints reflowed "correctly".

Krikies! seems like a head-scratcher if I may say so me-self. I would say the other ogre is right, that surface finish will play a big factor in your solder joint's grain structure or how shiney 'tis. Non-HASL bearing finishes will typicaly exhibit

We recently have received a lot of warped (bowed and/or twisted behond IPC 600 specs.) bare boards (some our fabricator's fault, some ours by design) and I can't help but figure that long term reliability will suffer when building product with them.
