Chunks, I used to work in power electronics, and we had this design engineer who used to "blow moisture" on the high-impedance circuit and test for cleanliness. We were water washing in a OA-Water Soluble environment. He was convinced that there w

Paste Flux / Reflow: Our experiments indicated that the combination of no-clean solder paste and air forced convection reflow produced the fewest tombstone defects, followed by water-soluble paste reflowed in air, and most tombstones occurring with

I have been seeing wetting problems with Texas Instruments componets. I am using Kester 596L OA water soluble solder paste. My reflow profile is in spec. for this formula. Has anybody else seen this problem and if so how did you resolve it? Any feed

Hello all, We have a customer requesting the use of Sn95/Sb5. Of course they are in a hurry and I have not found any in stock. I need solder paste and cored wire. We can use water soluble or low residue (no-clean) flux. Anyone have a lead on a s

THANKS FOR YOUR REPLY GUYS... more background... solder paste is Water Soluble. We mask the potentiometers prior to aqeous washing using solder mask, then our operator brush the solder joints with IPA after the Wash Process...I'm concerned about th

Bill, We only allow 3 boards to be printed in front of the pick and place equipment. It is important to keep the abandon time to a minimum. You did not mention the paste that you use. Do you use no-clean or water soluble? Do you use lead free?

| My question is in regards to how exactly temperature and humidity affect the stencil printing process. If temperatures here at the plant in the summer are 70-73 degrees F. and relative humidity is 60-65%,to what extent will the results of the ste

Dreamy, OA fluxes / pastes have differing levels of activity. Most OA fluxes must be cleaned very soon after reflow. OA fluxes and pastes, while offering an aggressive flux package and a relatively easy removal (solubility in water), they are the

I, too, have finished qualifying the Amtech paste for a dispensing application. We will be experimenting with the component soldering/stencil printing next. The stuff has proven to provide the best of both the no-clean/low solids and water washable
