Steve is right. There is a difference between flat ribbon "devices" and flat ribbon "cable". IPC standards are the same for flat ribbon as gull wing. Here's a pic for example: http://www.topline.tv/FLATPACK.html

Toe down solution: * Land pattern design * Solder stencil design * Proper component fabrication Normal gull wing lead solder requirement: Solder must extend to the mid-point of the outside of the lead bend.

the footprint is IPC standard which I have found to be less forgiving than the Jedec one for tombstoning. Enig finish - 5 thou stencil. We have historically used homeplate design but I am leaning towards 1:1. Leadfree application. aj...

Now, they realized the problem of the current leadfree alloys. Is there any leadfree alloys finalized to use in future? Will it be a four elements alloys instead of current three elements alloys (eg SAC)?

The only way to resolve these issues is to bring back the good ol lead and make the joints ductile instead of brittle for an affordable price. Thanks for the link Dave

Greetings, Is there a Mil Spec or IPC spec on how many times you can wave solder a PCB? I did a search on this forum with no results. Common sense says two or three times. I need documentation. Thanks for any info.

I don't know of any standards that apply to hardware at the component level. I would think, though, that unless the spec. sheet for the component specifies cracks there shouldn't be any.
