WHAT IS LEADFREE? | 8 November, 2006

Hello EveryBUDDY ! Sorry if my questions sounds too naive!!!! I am into Mobile phone repairs and have not been hearing much about "LEADFREE" soldering till now. Browsing thro' this forum and various SMTNET newsletters, i find that this is one of the newest things in the electronics production industry. I request info on what is leadfree soldering? Why is it preferred over the convention leaded soldering? Is it in use in the makings of Mobile Phones? Thanks and regards,

Q2: Why is it preferred over the convention leaded soldering? A2: Eurolanders legislated it without proper investigation into the environmental and cost impact.

Q3: Is it in use in the makings of Mobile Phones? A3: You bet.
