Hi, Thanks for the reply, The fiducial which posed problems is a 1 mm diameter gold plated circle fiducial. The problem with this is that the vision system sees it darker than the surrounding area. The surrounding area is all copper covered with the green protective lacquer. So when I select the Surface Type Reflect, it can't recognize it. If I put it on NonReflect It will sometimes recognize it and sometimes not. For these I use now the Special 2 algorythm and it works fine, with no recognition errors. And when I make the vision test in the Adjust Assistant, the white cross stays in the middle all the time, pretty stable. Do you think that it could recognize it badly sometimes without giving an error message? Because at some boards I had some missaligned components, though these could be like that for some other reason. What I really want to know is that the pattern matching can be used for reading for example hexagonal shaped fiducials with a hole in the middle? Because some of our projects have PCB's without dedicated fiducials and we have to resort to the recognition of a drill hole on some pad which is not round, nor square shaped but hexagonal.and this method can give missaligned placement, because the drilling is not made so precisely in the middle.
