Does Photonic soldering work well with Ceramic substrate PCB's? and can it be used for die?

Yes, some testing of soldering chip capacitors onto ceramic substrates with high temperature paste proved successful. Die attachment can be achieved using this technology as well. The underfill of the die becomes a critical factor in rework potential of your application. Some new materials have claimed to be reworkable, but the cleaning of the area to place a new die down remains a problem.

It has been an issue with the underfill material. New products on the market claim to be reworkable. This will be very exciting to see in the future.
