Nonrecurring Cost

What are the non-recurring operating costs of running this machine? How long does it take to program a rework operation, assuming you have CircuitCAM or something like that?

The programming is simple and is based on just a few simple parameters. There is no CAD interface required to program the equipment. You must key in the dimensions of the component (X-Y and Thickness) and then specify the required thermal process. Since Photonic soldering uses a non-contact thermal process control. The parameters are actual component surface temperatures (not air temp or flow rates). The computer automatically calculates the laser path. Programming time is less than 3 minutes (One minute to find a set of metric calipers to measure the component).

How are component temperatures measured with your machine?

The temperature is measured with a Pyrometer. It measures the spot that is being heated with the laser. As the surface heats up, the laser power is decreased to stabilize the temperature.

How does this pyrometer work? How is it attached to / removed from the component?

The pyrometer is a non-contact temperature measuring device. It optically measures the surface temperature of the component surface every 10ms.
