I am looking for info on symptoms : what happens to test probes when height is not set right and are overstocked ? I am finding black coating or coloration on sliding part of the probe. Is it normal ?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Ya gota stop messing with that NC stuff, bud. The residues will kill you. Look at http://www.smtnet.com/Forums/index.cfm?fuseaction=view_thread&CFApp=1&&Message_ID=4649&_#Message4649

What are you trying to get at when you say "what happens to test probes when height is not set right and are overstocked?"

Is a black coating or coloration on sliding part of the probe normal ? I wouldnt call anything normal when it turns gold plated test probes black. Should you expect to see it if youre running NC flux? Ubetcha!!! Is it an insulator? Ubetcha!!! Does it affect the continuity between the probe and the outer-contacts on the test probe? Ubetcha!!! Wudyagunnado? Tell me where you buy probes and Ill buy stock in their company.
