This portion of SMTnet is intended for people whining about the operation of the forums and what-not. A lot of the people asking questions like your use the production forum.
We don't have an air knife on our wave, but I recall some threads on SMTnet on the topic from an earlier time. Unfortunately, I couldn't find anything in the archives. That's probably because they're in the archive but they're over a year or so old.
Brian keeps these pre-Cold Fusion archives in this desk and periodically pledges to get them on-line, but some think he doesn't know how to do it.
See, now I've turned this thread into a whining about SMTnet and so, it's "legal" to be on this forum. Pfew!!!
Getting back to the point, as I recall, air knives do a good job of debriging connectors, SMT components, etc. This action is board and air knife dependant. Setting the knife too high can "blow" SMT components off the boards and other things that I can't remember.
We'd seriously consider getting one, if we were buying a nice wave solder bachine.
