I get a Timeout waiting for nozzle changer vacuum buildup failure every time I go to run my 1998 GSMx machine. The problems seems to be that once in a while (it seems to be random) the spindle does not line up exactly in the center of the nozzle changer hole and the nozzle will not go all the way into the hole to create a good seal so that the proper suction cannot occur. I have 1 head on the machine and it is happening on several different nozzles on both changers 3 and 4.
I have cleaned the nozzles. I've reseated all of the nozzles, and redone the nozzle inventory (and found that it was incorrect). After fixing this, there was no change.
I used I/O diagnostics to fire changer up and activate vacuum. All activated nozzles were firmly held in place. All rubber gaskets seems to be good. There is no obvious air leaks that I can detect, the changer does pop up for the change.
I swapped nozzles around, reprogrammed the nozzle inventory, redid optimization... no change.
I would try to manually insert the nozzles into the nozzle changer holes but I can not figure out how to do that. Is that possible? How?
There is a thread on SMTnet at http://www.smtnet.com/Forums/index.cfm?fuseaction=view_thread&Thread_ID=17749 but their solution is not clear. Rob, did you ever get your problem fixed? What did you have to do?
Any thoughts or tips that can help?
