Reflow N2 PPM Fluctuation Issue | 1 February, 2024

I am facing a ppm fluctuation issue. The customer provides a limit of 600 to 1500 PPM in the Reflow process and it should be under spec. But we are facing the issue during the running production and the ideal state ppm flucate sometimes goes below 600 and sometimes more than 1500ppm. The higher side goes 1500 to 1900PPM and the lower case 600 to 400PPM. I want to know how we can control the N2 flow velocity and Valume to control the PPM fluctuation.

Please suggest.

I know that we maintain lower PPM count from our N2 Generators when we can lower the flow rate. I'm not sure if that would help you or not.

Does your nitrogen supplier have any recommendations for controlling flow? Sounds like the regulators are inadequate or not working properly.

fluctuating PPM is not the Nitrogen if you are using liquid Nitrogen. It is the Oxygen. Your problem is not with the Nitrogen flow, it is Oxygen getting in your oven.

Who is the manufacturer of the reflow oven ?

There are multiple reasons you could be experiencing this. There could be a leak somewhere or air could be getting blown back into the end of the oven.
