3D print custom nozzle or cnc machine? | 31 May, 2024

I'm thinking about making a custom nozzle for a hirose connector my UIC machines have trouble putting down correctly. I'm thinking of printing the nozzle from stainless steel or something else. Does anyone have a material preference for nozzles? I read thinking steel as it would be easy to grind flat.

Does anyone have a drawing for an IL4 or 7 spindle universal instruments nozzle? I've measured but an actual official drawing would be great. I can't find full drawings for the uic nozzle.

You can download the full UIC nozzle library from them direct. They will also do the custom nozzle for you. you could also go out to the local CNC places etc.

As for materials, depends what will work for the part in question. stainless is an option of course.

I design and 3D print custom nozzles for my ASM pick and place quite often using our SLA machine and acrylic material. Works pretty well.
