It does require a specific monitor, see pictures. There might be a work around but last time I dealt with this is 1995.

Guessing that's a DE9 (9 pin cable) instead of standard VGA (15 pin). I think there's adapters available via the internet.

It has been years since I have worked with these. I beleive these are terminals not monitors. The input is not a video input, it is data. Note the back of the case is labeled as COM1 COM2.
