We're in contract manufacturing and we have a mid-90's vintage Universal 6241D Axial Inserter that we use maybe once a month on a few orders. We're stuck because a few clients have boards that can't justify the hand insertion time, but on the other hand, we can't justify a replacement inserter machine. I'm looking for ideas on alternatives that would either aid hand insertion time with cut/clinch included or automate insertion as a replacement but not be 100K. I've looked into Versatec and Robotas. Robotas came back at ~90K which seems outrageous to me for a hand guided system. Have any of you gone through a similar process? Or do any of you have other suggestions? Thanks in advance.
