Hello, Got a question about the F95 conformal tantalum solderability. F951A107KTAAQ2.

Two sided pcb with these capacitors on the first side. Sometimes after reflow of the second side, we notice that the caps are getting a hole in the solder, or even sometimes disconnect from 1 pad and go down to 45 degree, on the way to tombstone.

Cannot run this side as second one, got 2 big modules on the other side.

Any other thoughts ?

If you just want to secure the cap onto the board, you can use a small dot of epoxy, like loctite 3621.

Not really an option, mass production batches, 9 caps on the on the first side. Already ECOed a replacement for a regular tantalum TAJB, need to finish stock of 120k -_-

Not sure of the strictness of your contracting; but here's what you can do: Lower reflow temps. Try different temp solder paste on one side. Use epoxy under the part or water-soluble masking around it.- Do you have automated dispensers? You could reverse the reflow sequence. Easier to put component adhesive on 2 parts rather than 9.

Dont have automatic dispenser on the line.

The temperatures are configured for the modules reflow temps, can't really go lower than that, around 245c.

Also cant run it as first side, because of other big components on this side, lots of elec caps, tall button switches, volume control made of metal, etc.

About solder paste, using specific one for lowering void for one of the modules. Cant switch it to something different.
