Has anyone had experience with prototype-scale, table top Placemax and/or Manncorp pick and place equipment? If so, what has been your experience with the machines? Are they reliable? Did they meet all your needs? Which needs didn't they fill? Is the software easy to use for manual and CAD-download programming? Are there other table top equipment manufacturers that you would recommend? Any help would be greatly appreciated? Thank-you!

Thank-you! | Tom, I have used Manncorp machines in three different contract manufacturing houses. I have actually programed and operated their table top pick & place, very good machines for the price. Very good for low volume high mix. Regarding the CAD-download programming I never used one on Manncorp machines, It was not cost effective for us since in contract manufacturing sometimes you don't get CAD data from customers, also the volume of work did not justify a 10 to 20k CAD converter. That is why Manncorp was very good for us, because of the programming was very easy to do. Also you don't have to worry about the size of board you will put in that machine, their table is very simple to adjust..

GOOD LUCK I hope this helps a bit..

Thank-you! |Tom , As a member of this forum I consider it my duty to tell you that the Placemax system is not all it is cut out to be. I don't want to get to detailed but I will say that it is not your friend. Any one who wants to challenge me on this is welcome, cause I got alot of ammo. IT JUST DOSN'T STACK UP!!! As far as MannCorp they appear to be very supportive and I really wish I had gotten one of there machines. Unfortunately I got a Placemax instead. If you buy a new Placemax do you get a good warrenty? Can you even buy a new one? Or do they just keep pitching them as used so they can float the warrenty? MannCorp has a good rep, at least! Gee, after reading this while I am writing I feel bad for saying such a thing about any one. But than again most victims do..........That's my dimes worth! Look further!
