| | | | | | | | Damn Wayne, | | | | | | | | | If I knew as much as you, Justin, Steve, his dad, and others know, or knew, I'd be happy to be the UGLY. The plus of a forum like this is it keeps us on our toes and keeps our brain cells alive or constantly searching for replacements. | | | | | | | | | Keep it up, down, or in the right direction, | | | | | | | | | Moonman | | | | | | | | Earl you are so kind......Many of my friends are at the SMI (Show) this week I decided to save a few bucks and stay in NE Will be interesting to see what the turnout was and how effective the programs were. | | | | | | | | Can't kick Justin or his dad Jon, they kick themselves! (wish I could spell). And we all know Steve works hard at it.. | | | | | | | | As for the brain cells, think I have to defag the few I have left. | | | | | | | | Wayne | | | | | | | Guys, | | | | | | | First of all, Wayne. Don't go slandering people on my behalf. I can do a pretty good job at it myself. Earl, who am I getting married to? I'm 23 and have no designs for marriage in the near future. Not for the first time, second time, or any time after that. I'm having too much fun as a bachelor. I don't think either of you guys should be talking about keeping it up. You're both probably more concerned with down or to the right. Yuk Yuk Yuk. | | | | | | | defending himself, | | | | | | | Justin | | | | | | My god, somebodies younger than me...guess I'm no longer the pup...heh | | | | | | -Ben | | | | | Heh Heh Heh, | | | | | Yup, I'm the pup. I'm almost 24. Aaaarrrggghhhh. I'm seasoned though. I've been a Process Enginerd since I was 21. | | | | | It's so much easier for us young guys, Ben. We have a ton of resources at our disposal. Makes the job a lot more fun. Think about it. There are process guys out there in their 40's who struggled through the SMT learning curve like nobody's business because they had no one to emulate. As for us, we ask a couple of questions, spend some time on the line, read goofy trade rags, and "BANG" we're up to speed. | | | | | Pretty lucky, huh? | | | | | Best Regards, | | | | | Justin | | | | | | | | Oh gosh, sounds like patronizing to me. You young guys have it made because you really get into this stuff. We did it mostly through trial and error while inventing stuff that no one would believe today. The list is long and extinguished starting with direct IR, used in the sixties era hybrid business, to real mesh screens and hand pushed squeegees, then vapor phase for leadless ceramic chip carriers on CIC/polyimide or Kevlar boards (to match TCE), and on to the "modern" era where youth rules with all the toys boys and girls could want. What's next. You'll be the ones to figure it out - with a little help from us old timers because nothing has really changed, or has it? | | | | Moonman (and who started that rumor about Justin's future X wife) | | | Well Earl got to it before I could Justin, You are right...we do have it easier, due to the Wonderful pioneers (yes that is sucking up) That have blazed the trails before us...but at the rate technology is developing these days, just think what the next 5-10 years is gonna hold for us...The trail blazing has only yet begun. | | | -Ben | | Not being terribly religious, Ahmen, and you guys will share it all with us on this forum. It don't get any better. | | Earl Moon | Gee this has turned into "As the Stomach Turns" If it wasn't for all the smart young process engineers figuring out how to handle some of these new devices, circuit board challenges, what have you, we old guys would have little to do or talk about. | Watching the stock market lately one can see that the US high tech companies seem to be holding their own, even with the world going down the tube. We ar depending on the new generation of engineers to keep it moving forward. | As for Justin getting married, no way, he will put carpet in his deer stand before he puts it in his house... | The way things are going I might have to do more fishing,,,,,,,,,,instead of working. | Wayne Wayne- Don't forget about us process techs too.... Myself, I'm not much into fishing but I'm gonna try to bag me a cougar this season. -Ben
