Whoa!!!! Re: Flying Probe ICT | 24 August, 1998

| Any competition for Teradyne on this front? Any users out there with comments? | Thanks in advance. | G If your new to the world of Fying Probe ICT you may think this is a new developement. Its not, this technology has been around for 10+ years. Manufacturers (listed in order of approx. market share) are: TEXMAC Takaya-Japan SPEA-Italy, NOW Marketed by GENRAD Okano-Japan, NOW Marketed by Terradyne TESCON-Japan PROBOT-USA (bare board and ceramics almost exclusively, last I checked) Actually, With TEXMAC having almost a world wide 80%+ market share. Genrad and Terradyne are relative newcomers and competition to this growth market. Newest features to look for: Board power-up fixturing & Boundry Scan for non-leaded devices (BGA) Integrated vision systems and OCR software, (reads the part #'s right off the device) Lifted Leads detection software for troublesom intermitents in coplanarity issues. This market is full of specmanship, check system capabilities first hand. TEXMAC leads the pack as far as I've seen. Steve
