Madder Than Hell

So my salesman says to me that we could return our unneeded Al frames from our MPM printer to Alphametals in CA for credit to be applied toward a future sale. Sonded good. So I boxed up all the damn frames (44) and shipped them off to Goofyland. Now Alphametals says they can't use the frames and the salesman from Syracuse laughed at me when I called him to tell him about the problem. I was trying to get it resolved and he laughs at me!! I'm so POed at him! He comes here all the time to peddle his stuff and then plays a sneaky trick on me: he now says that Alphametals can only use the frames I returned if I buy a Tetra frame. He DID NOT say that before I sent them. In fact, I had just bought another Quick Frame (another because the first one is such a poor design that we're worried it will fail and leave us hanging). Alternative vendors: Blades for printing: Transition Automation 1-800-648-3338 The Ultraprint blade I tried worked great on our Dek printer. I plan to buy several more. Stencils and (in the near future) frames: M-R-C 1-408-956-7920. Mike Vina is the man!

Dave F | 1 Who is Kenny? And who killed him? | 2 If I can decide between a DEK 260 and a MPM SPM, which would you choose? Why? I have had many bad experiences with the DEK manufacturer over the last three years. The squeegee drive motor would "bog down" and stall on print speeds as slow as 0.5 inch/sec. This happened on three machines. In fact I reversed engineered their squeegee motor drive circuits and discovered that the motors were NOT PWM controlled (active feedback) as described in their manuals. Three mother board revs later and over a year they finally solved the problem. Their service is very lacking and their products lend themselves to agressive advertising claims. However, I have an MPM 3000 and an MPM 2000 and they have reduced solder defects by over 40 percent! There are four reason why MPM is a world leaders in SMT printing technology. Performance, reliability, inovation, service. Thank you MPM! (after the DEK fiasco as-well-as performance testing on the MPM's our fascilities exclusively use MPM). Call if you need more info. Why? | Ben (Oops): So what is this full time engineering doing on the DEK? That doesn't seem right!!! Dave F | 1 Does it go out of calibration? | 2 Does it require reprogramming? | 3 Is it broken? The first printer we received didn't work at all and we promptly sent it back. Dek Jr. mostly requires lots and lots of reprogramming. Some repairs. Aside from frames and blades (you get to worry about this-Dek won't supply them or help in any way), I am not involved with the printer so I'm only reporting what I've seen.

When things go wrong (see below) it can usually be attributed to a communication problem. This is exactly the issue with this case. A meeting has been held and corrections have been made with no hard feelings. However, another call rather than a nasty email would have quickened the resolution to this problem. I don't think I am the only one in this industry to ever make a mistake. It's not nice to throw stones. Thanks.
