I'm considering the Panasonic Soft Beam for soldering through hole parts, How well do they work ? , How much time does it take to solder 400 solder points ?

Steve, I onlyworked on the soft beam for a few months. With a good operator it ran good. The biggest problem i saw was the solder would break. The operators would try adjusting and end up moving the solder point. We had two machine back to back one running the top side the other running the bottom for connectors. It was quick for these parts, sorry i never timed it. It was continous movement when soldering. The lights we around $1200-$2000 and changed 4000 hours. It wasn't possible to run this product through a wave solder machine but givin a choice wave solder or mini wave is more reliable.
