SMTA On-line Presentation Comparing Industry Standard Revisions March 9: IPC-A-610 with Regards to Lead-free Technology There have been extensive and significant changes to the industry standard IPC-A-610 with the launch of the D revision, which is planned for distribution in February of 2005. The inspection document has been completely reformatted in order to make it more user-friendly for those employing the criteria on the manufacturing floor, as well as for instructors teaching the requirements in a clear and concise manner.
Also important is the inclusion of many inspection criteria related to the lead-free assemblies including many photos. Many of the criteria have also changed with regard to lead-free technology. This SMTA On-line Presentation, featuring IPC Master Instructor for BEST Jim Jenkins, will highlight all of the significant changes in the D revision, including some that will profoundly affect manufacturers.
