Surge Protection for Surface Mount Equipment | 4 January, 2006

In recent years we always seem to have problems with machines going down due to thunderstorms. I am trying to find a way to surge protect our Tyco equipment, anyone out there have any suggestions. It would be greatly appreciated.

Try looking at "Fortress" or "APC" uninteruptable power supplies (UPS).

If the equipment was originally 'quad'....then....they had already had some spec'd out for each machine. I would try calling them and seeing if they still have the 'old' documentation. If that doesn't work....you could try any reputable company that sells surge protectors and they should be able to help you.

Remember that there is a difference between protecting the Interface Computer and the Machine itself.

One is reletively cheap, one is NOT.
