Mydata PNP programs using excel? | 7 November, 2007

Mydata users, is there a way to use Microsoft Excel to create pick and place programs?

I have my centroid data with the following:

1st column: Reference designator 2nd column: part number 3rd colum: x 4th column:Y 5th column: theta

Now,using Excel, what format do I need to save it as so a Mydata 19 pick and place machine can read it from a floppy disk? Or what else do I need to add?

Any tips and info will be appreciated.

Thanks

MyData has a spreadsheet macro that converts an Excel spreadsheet into the format that the machine can read. First you make up an Excel spreadsheat with the data in this column order: X center, Y center, Rotation (theta), Part number, Reference designator. Then you run the macro on that file and it will convert it into the format the machine needs.

To get the macro, try calling tech support. They should be able to e-mail the file to you and explain how to use it.
