Stock footage of SMT process? | 18 December, 2007

Hello there,

Please forgive the wildly-off-topic nature of this post.

For a video documentary about radios in the 1920's, I'm looking for stock footage of modern PC board manufacture. (I'm a software engineer but doing this effort as a hobby).

The stock footage available thru the usual sources is either too stylized, or is dated (a lot of thru-hole, DIP instead of more modern packages plus leaded passive components instead of surface mount caps/resistors, etc; older devices). In short, the footage is dated and wrong.

I know this is a forum for manufacturing engineering issues, but does anyone know of decent footage? If anyone is in the SF Bay Area and will let me videotape robotic SM in progress for a few minutes, that would be awesome as well. I know this is a long shot. Thanks for reading this.

Thanks in advance, Ben Koning Sunnyvale, CA (SF Bay Area)

Many equipment suppliers provide vids of their equipment operation as part of their sales pitch. Maybe contacting equipment sales representatives in the Bay Area would get some help for your project.

AdL Technology in Ohio (www.adltech.com) has a great video of UIC lightning head running on Advantis in their website. You might try contacting them and ask about it...
