UIC Genesis PC Motherboard Swap - BusMgr Not Installed in Registry | 27 March, 2026

Our genesis machine (4992B) has a failing motherboard causing the pc to reboot randomly. We swapped the motherboard with the same model and spare from UIC but the machine is not loading correctly. The epc emulator shows error &amp;quot;BusMgr NOT installed in registry. pC motherboard installation.&amp;quot;

I have not found anything in uic documentation detailing this error or how to install BusMgr in the registry.

Has anyone had to deal with this issue before?

Not sure if this applies to your setup, but changing of the CPU usually requires new license (license is locked to the CPU, most likely CPU ID number).

It looks like the issue with the software was the bios date. The cmos battery was dead and the clock reset each time we power cycled. The license was invalid because the date was set backwards. When we replaced the battery and reconfigured the bios we were able to get the system booted.

We used the same CPU so I am not currently able to confirm if the CPU is registered to the license or not.

We still had a reboot happen once so we may have to continue chasing this problem but at least we have eliminated motherboard and ram as possible culprits. PC power supply was recently replaced also.

Once you mess-up the license the only way is to obtain a new one from UIC. That should not be a problem - method described in manuals works. Ours will expire in 2037. I hope I will be still alive to see what happens then...
