| I'm planning to introduce selective point-to-point soldering for pwb. This is due to various needs: PIHs assy on double IR, for example. I think the most suitable solution is a point-to-point soldering, 'cause we're still having small lot/many type production. I'd be glad to receive some general advices or suggestions about the real effectivness of single-point soldering made by a "nozzle pot". Which clearance around PIH pin? Are you ure that you cannot use a "pin-in-paste" process? That has worked well for us. We have looked at selective soldering but have not yet bought anything. I recommend you talk to Air-Vac Engineering, Pillarhouse, and Exselect. One of our engineers has had overall good experience with Pillarhouse while working at another company. Maybe others here can recommend additional equipment suppliers.
