Contact Systems vs Multitroniks: Who's better??? | 23 February, 1999

No salesmen please. (I didn't use my real email address)

I would like to know if anyone is using either of these SMT machines and if they are what input can you give me on them. We are looking at the Contact 3Z and the Multitroniks DHM for our low volume high mix SMT line.

Thanks in advance, Bill

I bought 4 pick and place in the last 4 years. One of them was a Contact 3AV with QFP tray.

Bill,

I have been using a Contact 3AV for three years and am looking into the purchase of a 3Z. I find the 3AV to be exceptionally user friendly, quick and (knock an wood) reliable. We do low volume, mid mix SMT on Flex. (less QFP's and more discretes and connectors) I have had no major problems with the unit and have measured a CPH of 6700 placing 0805 LED arrays. I have no experience with the Multitroniks systems so I would be of little help. My best advice would be to take the time and visit the manufacturer and run some test boards yourself.

Hope this helps

Bill, I know where there is a barely used 3AV at a distressed price that might sway your decision. Call me, Dean 414-570-9700
