| Has anyone running the cp4-3 feeders (MC type) in 8 by | 4 td flavour seen excessive wear on the aluminum body | caused by the tape leaf cover and tape leaf retaining | clip?? Sorry for the delay in posting to this one... I have in fact seen this wear problem, But it has stemmed from careless operators bending the tapeleaf covers, and not reporting the damage. Certain preventive measures that have been taken to prevent this wear. (1) When I get new feeders I place a small drop of Dura Lube between the cover and the wall of the feeder...this will help decrease wear if a slight bend happens. (2) In the event of a bend, replace the cover ASAP (3) When wear is first noticed, Smooth it out with emory cloth and replace the cover. (4)---I have not yet had the opportunity to try this---In the case of excessive wear the feeder most likely becomes in-operable, you might want to try milling down the entire area so it is all the same height, and when you put on the new cover, place a washer between it and the wall of the feeder to ensure that the cover doesn't shift from side to side during normal operation. (5) Kick the heck out of the operators...heh...just kidding however increased awareness does improve the situation.
