So, why can't you clean misprints on Entek boards?
Entek: Cheap, flat, OK shelf life, not without process and fabrication issues.
Your Entek organic solderability protection is probably Entek Plus [CU106A] made by Ethone OMI. Consider getting a copy of Reflow and Wave Soldering of ENTEK PLUS-Coated PWBs: Answers to Key Assembly Issues from Ethone. It will probably say something like
Wipe-down/Cleaning of Misprinted Solder Paste The ENTEK PLUS coating is soluble to varying degrees in most solvents, acids, or base materials. Any solvent used to clean solder paste off of PWB will solubilize or remove some portion of the ENTEK PLUS coating. The amount of removal depends on the strength of the cleaning material. Remove the majority of paste using a spatula. Using a solvent appropriate for the paste system, adjust the cleaner temperature and concentration to lowest possible levels and still solubilize the paste residue. For optimum results, reprocess PWB within 24 hours.
